We use 70% more water now than we did 40 years ago and in some areas the rivers are being damaged because too much water is being taken out of them.Water is the stuff of life, nothing on this planet can survive without it, and yet, even though this planet is covered with 70% water, only 0.008% is drinkable by humans!Remember that WATER is not an unlimited resource!When we have a drought the wildlife in our rivers can die because the water levels drop too low for them to survive. The groundwater level in this country is dropping - because we waste too much water and pollute a lot too. Remember - it takes energy to clean and distribute water! (which can lead to climate change)BUT YOU CAN HELP! EVERYBODY CAN HELP!Some of the ways of helping are simple - some are more complicated.. There are two main things to remember about water:1) Using biodegradable cleaning products helps fish and aquatic life live in our rivers by protecting our water system from pollution. 2) It is possible to save vast amounts of water! Discuss with your groupmates what do you think about the way they try to save the water?Do you think it's useful to start with reducing the amount of the used water in your family or is useless?What more can you do to reduce the amount of used water in your surrounding (village, city...)?(Enable JavaScript in your browser, please.)
