TimetablesSharing ideas re timetables: in the average timetable (300mins):Literacy: 60-120 minutesNumeracy: 45-60 minutesFitness: 15 minutesAssemblies: 40-60 minutesSO not much time left once these are taken care of.Plus: Transitions 2-10 minutes each, 10 transitions. This is one area that can be tightened up to reduce time spent. 30 minutes a day?Speed up by drilling at start of year; lock students out if not on time (!!), make up time at lunch; give warning that transition is coming.Also, time getting to class after bell, 5 mins.Time is a precious commodity. Need to regularly re-evaluate timetable to make it efficient.Need to also be aware of what the children did the previous year, to provide curriculum coverage.Literacy Learning Progressions TKI.

Must always think about the purpose of the tool.
